The UnidosUS Learning Alliance (ULA) is currently registering counselors for the Housing Supports for People with Disabilities Webinar.  The training will take place on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM EST.   This webinar class will be accessible from any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection via Blackboard Learn web application. Blackboard mobile is also available via Android and iOS. 

Part II in this webinar series will cover housing supports for people with disabilities. Many individuals who have disabilities are not aware of housing options and available supports that can help them secure affordable housing that meets their specific needs.

This training will help you:

• Better understand the housing rights and options for individuals with disabilities;
• Become familiar with the financial challenges, myths and fears that hold back homeownership for people with disabilities;
• Identify supports and resources that can help people with disabilities navigate the road to homeownership;
• Grants and loan programs that help individuals add accessibility features to their homes; and
• Learn how ABLE Accounts, a savings and investment product, enables individuals with disabilities to save and build assets, such as buying a home, without impacting their Social Security Disability Benefits.

Our courses are designed to provide options to multiple types of learners in one setting. We provide a virtual class facilitated by an instructor. Two-hour mandatory attendance is required for this training to receive a certificate of course completion.
