The UnidosUS Learning Alliance (ULA) is currently registering counselors for the eLearning HCC: Homeownership Course. The training will begin on September 12th through September 16th, 2022.

This one-week course is designed to educate counselors about homeownership, in preparation for the HUD (Housing and Urban Development) counselor exam. Participants will gain an understanding of the homeownership process and be able to evaluate a client’s readiness to purchase a home through discussion of income,?credit, savings, and homeowner responsibility.? Also, they will have the knowledge to educate a client on insurances that will protect their assets. Counselors will know how to guide a client through creating a maintenance plan and discuss how to maximize safety and improve energy efficiency around the home. Lastly, they will be able to present the financing options available to a homeowner for rehabbing their home that best suits their financial needs. 

Participants are expected to log in to Blackboard to read course material, watch instructional videos, access supplemental articles, and complete quizzes and a final exam. Students should plan to spend at least one hour per day on the course.

So, no needing to login at a certain time or completing assignments on a particular day, you can do this from work or home 24/7 within the scheduled dates of your course. The course manual can be downloaded and saved right to your desktop or you have 30 days from the course end date to log back in and review the materials.
