Registration Information
August 2 - August 23, 2021

The UnidosUS Learning Alliance (ULA) is currently registering counselors for the eLearning Financial Counseling course. The training will begin on August 2nd through August 23rd, 2021.

Housing counselors and social service case managers increasingly find themselves dealing with clients who need to address various financial barriers. This course provides the basic strategies and information needed to increase professionals’ ability to assist their clients. It covers the basic fundamentals of financial counseling for low-income clients delivered as a current program enhancement or a new stand-alone service. Topics covered include barriers to increasing wealth faced by low-income clients, the financial counseling process, program design, client goal setting and relationship-building, and developing a financial plan. It includes essential information on savings strategy and products, client income analysis, insurance products, and tax filing.

Our eLearning courses are designed to provide options to multiple types of learners in an asynchronous format. We provide training materials and exercises that can be done at your own pace. So, no needing to login at a certain time or completing assignments on a particular day, you can do this from work or home 24/7 within the scheduled dates of your course. A scheduled, live Q&A session will be announced by your instructor and a notice will be sent prior to the session. The course manual can be downloaded and saved right to your desktop or you have 30 days from the course end date to log back in and review the materials.

The course is scheduled for August 2nd through August 23rd, 2021 to provide a facilitator for students that may require another level of engagement. The facilitator is there to provide:

  • a syllabus with a schedule of office hours and introduction to the course
  • answer any questions related to the curriculum
  • participate in collaborative group discussions
  • provide a live Q&A session

Tuition: $400
