The UnidosUS Learning Alliance (ULA) is currently registering counselors for the HUD Certification Prep Course Hybrid. The training will begin on September 26-30, 2022. The LIVE training times will be from Monday thru Thursday at 12:00 PM ET to 4PM ET.
Get Ready for an intense week of Exam Prep. Through lectures, videos, group activities, & exercises, this course covers the six areas of competency required to pass the HUD Housing Counseling Certification Exam: Financial Management, Housing Affordability, Fair Housing, Homeownership/Pre-Purchase, Avoiding Foreclosure/ Avoidance Strategies and Industry Practices and Tenancy. It will also include the Tips and Tricks for test-taking and as an added bonus: Ways to Reduce Test Anxiety. This course is unique from other industry trainings as it provides competency-based learning; assisting students to achieve the content objectives they need to pass the exam. A student can expect to commit 21 hours of course time over 5 days through a virtual learning platform, Blackboard Learn. Students will be expected to attend all the “live” sessions and complete all the exercises as they are designed to help the students hone in on the specific areas needed to become certified. Very important: Students should plan to take the exam no later than the Monday following course completion.
Our courses are designed to provide options to multiple types of learners in one setting. We provide a virtual class facilitated by an instructor, but the materials and exercises can be done through online distance learning. You will need to login at a certain time or complete assignments on a particular day, you can do this from work or home 24/7 within the scheduled dates of your course. The course manual can be downloaded and saved right to your desktop or you have 30 days from the course end date to log back in and review the materials.
