The UnidosUS Learning Alliance (ULA) is currently registering counselors for the Disability Sensitivity in Housing Counseling Webinar?.  The training will take place on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM EST.   This webinar class will be accessible from any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection via Blackboard Learn web application. Blackboard mobile is also available via Android and iOS. 

Please join us for a two-part webinar series on Disability Awareness Sensitivity and Housing Supports for People with Disabilities.

Part I in this webinar series will equip you with the knowledge needed to ensure your counseling services are equitably accessible to persons with disabilities.

This training will help you:

• Become familiar with different definitions and types of disabilities;
• Identify language and etiquette that stimulates meaningful, empowering interactions with your clients with disabilities;
• Learn practical tips to communicate and interact more effectively and more comfortably;
• Better understand what reasonable accommodations are and how to offer them in your counseling sessions; and
• Raise awareness of ways to ask clients the disability question comfortably and effectively.

Our courses are designed to provide options to multiple types of learners in one setting. We provide a virtual class facilitated by an instructor. Two-hour mandatory attendance is required for this training to receive a certificate of course completion. The course manual can be downloaded and saved right to your desktop.
