The UnidosUS Learning Alliance (ULA) is currently registering counselors for the HECM Default Counseling Online Distance Learning. The training will begin on July 20^th- 23^rd, 2021 from 8:30am- 1:30pm PST.

The class will be hosted virtually over four days and with LIVE instruction from multiple trainers. Get all of the key content in 4-hour modules (with stretch breaks and lunchtime built in). A physical manual and an agenda will also be shipped directly to you to follow along in class. You will be informed when the book will be shipped to you. The hybrid class will be accessible from any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection via Blackboard Learn web application. Blackboard mobile is also available via Android and iOS.

This four-day course will teach you the basics on how housing counselors can assist HECM borrowers in default on their loans. You will learn about options to avoid foreclosure and best practices to assist HECM borrowers that are having difficulty paying their property charges. This course offers a unique combination of topics for counselors focusing on the following:

• Brief review of history of HECM Default
• Causes of HECM Default
• Counseling the homeowner(s)
• Who can do HECM Default counseling?

This course is an approved HECM Course Roster CEU.

Our courses are designed to provide options to multiple types of learners in one setting. We provide a virtual class facilitated by an instructor, but the materials and exercises can be done through online distance learning. You will need to login at a certain time or complete assignments on a particular day, you can do this from work or home 24/7 within the scheduled dates of your course. The course manual can be downloaded and saved right to your desktop or you have 30 days from the course end date to log back in and review the materials.
