Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded to individual HUD-certified agencies or agencies certified by HUD-approved intermediaries only; they are not awarded to the counselor individually. Eligibility requirements for both types of agencies are listed below.

Eligibility Requirements for an Independent HUD-Certified Agency

  • Agency must be certified by HUD independently.
  • Attending counselor must be employed by the agency.
  • Scholarships are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • A limit of one scholarship per fiscal year is available to each agency to ensure that an equal opportunity is given to as many organizations as possible.
    • If scholarships are still available after all candidates have been considered, additional scholarships may be awarded to agencies that have already met the one-scholarship award limit. Agencies that have already met the one-scholarship award limit are immediately placed on a waitlist for consideration if this option becomes available.

Eligibility Requirements for an Agency Certified by a HUD-Approved Intermediary

  • Intermediary must be HUD-approved.
  • Agency must be HUD-certified by the intermediary.
  • Attending counselor must be employed by the agency.
  • Scholarships are issued on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Limit of five total scholarships per intermediary, per training.
    • If scholarships are still available after all candidates have been considered, additional scholarships may be awarded to agencies whose sponsoring intermediary has already met the five-scholarship award limit.
