Continuing Education Policy

Applicants must complete The ULA Proof of Continuing Education Form  with at least 30 hours of continuing education related to housing counseling, real estate, or mortgage lending. A minimum of 15 hours must be completed with ULA courses. 

Requirements for approval of non-ULA courses include course completion certificate, copy of course agenda, or other documentation that indicates the topics covered in the training and the number of training hours completed. All required items must be submitted with the ULA Application for Recertification for all continuing education submissions. Please refer to our list of accepted sources outside of ULA.

Examples of acceptable sources of continuing education outside of the ULA may include:

  • Community colleges or universities
  • Enterprise Community Partners, Inc.
  • Fannie Mae
  • Freddie Mac
  • Local Initiatives Support Corporation
  • Local financial institutions or real estate associations
  • Local or state counseling coalitions
  • Mortgage Bankers Association
  • National Association of Realtors®
  • National HUD intermediaries
  • State housing finance agencies
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • Other sources may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
