1. Will an early departure on the last day of the training session keep me from qualifying for certification?

Yes. Participants agree to remain in class through the duration of scheduled class time. You will not be eligible for a certificate of completion or able to access the certification exam if you leave early. On-site instructors are not authorized to make exceptions to this rule.

However, if you need to leave early due to flight schedules, we must be notified in writing five business days prior to the start of the course. In addition, you must be prepared to remain in class until at least 3:00 p.m. on the last day. You will also be responsible on the exam for all material covered that day.

2. Is course registration required if applying for a scholarship?

If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be internally pre-registered for the course. Registration is completed once you confirm your attendance at our training site. Do not register online, as you will be prompted for payment.

If you do not receive a scholarship, you can register for any course you wish to attend as long as there is space available. However, you are required to pay the full tuition of the course.

3. Are scholarship applicants accepted after the deadline has passed?

All scholarship applications are submitted internally through our website. Once the deadline has passed, access to the applications is closed and removed from the website.

4. How do I find my agency’s HUD number?

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issues a five-digit number to all of its certified agencies. If you do not know it, ask your administrator or office manager. You may also contact your local HUD representative. Since scholarships are based on HUD certification and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, the selection committee will only consider correctly completed applications with a valid HUD number.

5. How soon can I apply for a scholarship for on-site training?

We normally permit submissions for scholarships through our website about two months before the training begins. We encourage you to visit our website periodically to view the dates of our training courses so you can submit your application on time. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

6. How long do I have to take the final exam?

You have 30 days after the course has ended to complete your exam.

7. How/When do I receive my login information?

Your login information will be sent via email 2 days prior to the start date of the course. Please check your spam/junk folders and make sure to also add learning@unidosus.org and eLearning@unidosus.org to your safe list.

8. Where do I take the HUD Housing Counseling Certification?

11. Where do I get a discount code? How do I enter a discount code to waive the tuition?

ULA eLearning FAQ

1. What is ULA eLearning?

Training delivered in an asynchronous learning model. Simply put, a virtual method to deliver educational training and obtain certifications right at your fingertips. Asynchronous learning allows you to take online training on your own schedule. Any computer, tablet or smartphone with access to the Internet can access online courses delivered via a web browser, such as Google Chrome. Course materials, recorded lectures, tests and assignments can be accessed at any time. Students are provided a time frame, usually a 1 week to 3 week window- during which they must complete the course activities and connect with the course facilitator. Students still have access to the course information for 30 days after the training end date to download templates and resources at their own convenience.

Whether a small group of employees are seeking additional training or a single counselor requires certification, users have easy access to anywhere/anytime training, from home or work, day or night.
