Ethics in Counseling
Ethics in Counseling is a one week autonomous elearning course through self-paced learning which requires a 6 hour overall time commitment. This one-week course is designed to educate consumers on the importance of ethical decision making in the Housing Industry. Ethics is the moral principal that governs person’s behavior or conducting of activities. As part of the HUD-approved process, HCA must meet the ethical standards required for using public funds. This course will have participants leaving with an understanding of the ethical responsibility of housing practitioners and HCAs. Discuss the HUD Housing Counseling standards and guidelines in detail. Deepen the conversation between the importance of conflict of interest and referring clients to other Housing professionals. Have a clear understanding of the importance of client disclosure forms. Lastly, recognize a framework of critical thinking to navigate through scenarios that may question the ethical portion of housing counseling programs.
