The Housing Counseling Certification provides counselors with a holistic perspective on the many types of housing concerns that clients may face. This combination of courses prepares counselors to use their knowledge to assist clients in a variety of housing situations, including pre-purchase and foreclosure. Additionally, depending on the courses selected, counselors receive training on how to work with clients seeking to secure rental housing, assist victims of natural disaster, or help those in need of temporary housing.

Applicants must attend the following UnidosUS Learning Alliance (ULA) courses:

Applicants must pass the following exams with a score of 80% or higher:

Practical Experience Requirements

Applicants must have counseled at least 30 individuals within the last 12 months, or must have been employed by a HUD-certified housing counseling agency for the last six months.
